When it comes to choosing a car audio installation shop, you have to be very careful as some may end up costing you more money than you bargain for.  Here are a few tips that will help you choose a shop that will get the work done and won’t rob you blind in the process.

* How Long Have They Been In Business?

It seems pretty basic, but many consumers won’t even ask this and they’ll choose a shop just because it “looks” like they know what they’re doing.

That’s a big NO, NO.  First find out how long they’ve been in business.  As a good rule of thumb, you want to make sure they’ve been in business for at least 3 years.  If they’ve been in business longer, then it’s a good indication that they are profitable and probably thriving through word-of-mouth referrals from happy customers.

* Do They Do Clean Work?

This one is tricky because everyone will tell you that they do, but if you take the time to look up reviews like in yelp.com or merchantcircle.com, you’ll find if people are complaining about the mess they did in their car.

These are good sources to help you do your due diligence.  Make sure you completely investigate a shop before you hand them your hard-earned money.

* Can They Clean Another Shop’s Mess?

This one is important because if you choose a good shop, they will have the skill, knowledge, and training to clean up another shop’s mess.

* Is The Owner Accessible To Customers?

Now, here’s where most shops fail.  The owner is usually too busy to meet and greet his own customers.  He’s forgotten that it’s his customers who made him a success and his customers are now just a number to him.

If you find a shop with that kind of attitude, do yourself a favor and run the other way.  You’ll be thanking me later for that advice.

Well, there you have it, four simple tips to help you find a quality audio installation shop in your own local area.
